How the Government Shutdown Impacts Genealogists
Posted by Diane

The government shutdown means that some of you who had big genealogy research or historical travel plans are up a creek:
US mail will still be delivered, so research requests sent to non-federal repositories won't be affected.

For the sake of those more profoundly affected and for genealogists' sake, let's hope this gets resolved soon.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is also down so no searching for patents or surveys online or in person.

Hi, Leonard, I'm not a government shutdown expert, but expenses are incurred in just keeping a site online, and I think whether a site is online or off has to do with where the money for that particular agency comes from.

I thoroughly enjeyod this clip, Jill and Audrey. Especially interesting to hear more about Audrey's background and her career path, even though she describes it as "drunken". Loved it.
