Free Genome Scanning Offer
Posted by Diane

A new genome profiling service called TruGenetics has an introductory offer: The first 10,000 registrants at the site get free genome scanning.

You can get start registering with TruGenetics here.

Genome profiling can give you information about deep ancestry—where your ancient ancestors came from, but not information that’s likely to help you find relatives within a genealogically researchable time frame. 23andme, a similar service, charges $399 for genome scanning.

I haven’t tested this offer. If you do, post a comment here and let me know what you think.

Thanks to Family Tree Magazine contributing editor Rick Crume for this tip!

I don't know if I actually want to know my risk of having all of those diseases... but I did go ahead and sign up. I don't have to view all the results if I don't want to and I'd hate to pass up a free service like this. They're just registering folks right now, so I'm wondering when the testing will begin?

Registered which resulted in this response:
While TruGenetics™ is not ready to start genotyping in the pre-registration phase, this free service will be available soon, and you will be contacted when it is ready! Please check back periodically for updates of progress.

Thanks to both of you for these updates--sounds like it may take awhile. With the site's emphasis on advancing scientific research, I wonder if the moneymaker will be providing the anonymous data to researchers?

Yes, signed up too, and I await them contacting me for the survey and follow-up. We'll see...

Got same message that they are only pre-registering people right now - hope this is legit.

I failed the first qualification:

1. Register
Registering is easy. Just click on the Register link on any page, and you will be directed to our registration page where you will be asked to provide us with needed information. In addition please note:

To participate, you must:

• Be 18 years of age.

It's been a while since I was 18. Perhaps they should expand their sample qualification age?

Badly need your help. I've never quite believed that one chance is all I get. Help me! Can not find sites on the: F15 picture shark teeth. I found only this - shark teeth wholesale. She is a sweetie pie! I love those shark teeth. Thousands of shark teeth can still be found in the creek today. Best regards :-(, Alexandria from Haiti.
