I can hardly wait! This looks fantastic. I hope it is such a big hit for NBC that they renew it for future seasons.

This looks like it will be a good series. It has a good cross section of celebrities. I am surprised that there will only be 7 episodes. That means that NBC doesn't really have much confidence in the series.

I can't wait for this show to begin. I hope that it's a huge hit and we can enjoy it for years to come. Well done NBC!!!

I hope they will include "regular" folks stories as well. The celeb's are the hook to make you watch, but busting brick walls, and presenting interesting stories will keep us watching.I'll be watching.

I really hope they will also give good tips and busting walls techniques as well as interesting stories.

It looks just wonderful! I'm jealous of all they've found! I love what it might do for genealogy and for all of the genealogy libraries! How do we ask for more episodes already? Thank you for the preview.

Wow, this show looks exciting! I can't wait to see it! I hope more and more people catch the genealogy bug from watching it. It would be great if they could do shows on just regular folks too! Thanks for the preview trailer.

Great! I am searching my Irish relatives, including a trip soon to Ireland. Waiting to see your program and hoping it can help me, I don't know much about them.

I hope they include HOW these families were all found for those of us who have been searching for EONS, and maybe get a new direction by chance....Glad they are doing something like this instead of people living on an island.....

Sounds wonderful!!! I think the celebrities will be a pull initially but I sure would like to see some "regular everyday people" included too. It is the regular people who are filling the libraries and city halls.

The preview was just wonderful. To learn the techniques of finding their ancestors and watch a show that is totally out of the norm is great. As an "ordinary" person I look forward to perhaps learning how I can break down my family history brick walls. I anxiously await March 5th.

Can't wait for this program. Perhaps it will help many of us who have hit that brick wall. I hope this is a program NBC will keep for a long time to come.

WOW - can't wait for this program to begin - perhaps there will be avenues that we the ordinary searchers will be able to follow. Thank you for starting a fabulous show.

I'm so excited about this show. I hope they give lots of instructions, ideas and techniques on how things were found. I have been working on at least 9 Family Trees for over 30 years...it takes a very long time between finds. I hope they choose some people from the ordinary too. Can't wait for March 5th.

I'm sure they aren't doing these searches in "real time" or it would make for a very looooooooog show. :) Don't think there will be enough time to give much how-to information. Still, though, it should be interesting.

When I watched Henry Louis Gates, Jr.'s "African American Lives" for the 2 years the specials were broadcast, I was hoping that something of a regular show might come around on TV that would help people realize the excitement that can be found in doing genealogy and family history. Perhaps this show is it! I, like many others, also hope that, like the "Lives" program, they will find that helping out regular folks is also a very important part of genealogy. I hope it goes well. Thanks for the great preview.

I can't wait to watch this. It will be exciting to see genealogy unfold and how personal and connected we become to the ancestors who came before us. This is the kind of reality TV worth watching! I hope NBC gets the number of viewers needed to keep this series on! Let's tell all our friends and family about it now! Thanks for bringing the preview to the Forum.

Preview was super, looking forward to the series. Hope to see everyday people too. Hope NBC advertises so I won't forget to watch.Should catch on because of celebrities. Think it will be a good night for it too. Catch you then and thanks.

I don't much care for celebrities, but this show looks interesting. I know I will enjoy the family search, stories and the history. But then, I would enjoy it even if it featured "common" people.

This show looks absolutely fabulous. Let's not forget that be it a "celebrity" or "common" folk, when it comes to the search for our ancestors, we are all in the same boat. The journey is always worth taking and the discoveries are worth every minute. This show can only excite "everyone" who watches to join this intoxicating journey of family history research.

I can't wait for the series to begin! I am new to genealogy and find it so exciting to see how others found their past! What a great TV show....the trailer makes it sound fantastic.

I'm very excited - we watched the Canadian version of WDYTYA and loved it (wish we could get the BBC version) as well as "African American Lives". I can't get enough of shows like these. It's so wonderful to see the reactions of the searchers to fnding their ancestors. I've been waiting for the American version to begin and I hope there is a good following so the show continues. From some previews that I read, there are a number of people who know nothing about the study of Genealogy and think it's just another reality show with a "who cares" attitude. We need to help change that feeling and get the word out.

I can't wait. This sounds wonderful and as a family genealogist I may pick up some good info on more places to search.

I hope Louis Gates is getting some kind of royalty on this. I'm not a big celebrity follower, though I'll probably watch at least one episode. The more people we can get doing genealogy, the easier it becomes for all of us.

If it's as good as the BBC version has been (we've now had about 7 or 8 seasons in the UK) you're really going to enjoy it. You soon forget that they are celebrities as they have ancestries as varied and intriguing as the rest of us. Inevitably the detailed mechanics of the searches are often skated over, but there are still plenty of hints and tips along the way, and the historical background is fascinating in itself. It has done wonders for genealogy over here and I'm sure that it will help to increase the popularity in the US too.

Incidentally, for those of you interested in seeing the BBC version, it is available on DVD, and although you probably won't recognise all of the celebs you will know some of them, like the actors Jeremy Irons and John Hurt. It's quite international too, as a surprising number of the featured guests have ancestry from, for example, Europe, the Caribbean, India, and even the US and Canada.

I'm sure that the NBC version will be a great success, and I just wish that we could see it here in the UK!
